The ALL SCHOOL HOLIDAY BONUS FUND is the collection of monetary contributions into a donation pool to fund holiday bonuses for teachers, administrative staff and support staff (crossing guards, maintenance, lunch staff and more), with the significant portion going teachers.
During a school day, many teachers and staff assist in the learning process and the all school holiday gift attempts to recognize their efforts with a holiday bonus. Think about your child's school day and you will see that the children have many teachers that enrich their educational experience from your assigned classroom teachers, to special classes like gym, art, music, and computers to learning support like our reading specialist, social worker and curriculum director, and many more such as aides that support the teachers and office staff like our school nurse.
This all school collection is in lieu of individual classroom gifts or individual family gifts to teachers and staff.
In 2015, over 85% of school families contributed to the bonus fund and the average contribution was $66.
The amount of your contribution is at your discretion and is kept confidential. Your homeroom teacher will be notified only of the families that have contributed so that they may write a thank you note. Any amount contributed is appreciated and may be tax-deductible (consult your tax advisor).
The disbursement of the funds remains the same as in years past. The teachers and aides in each class of Transitions, PreK and JrK receive a holiday bonus from the pooled contributions that their individual classes made. Teachers from K-8, specials and administrative staff receive a holiday bonus from the pooled contributions made from the K - 8th grade parents.
